- 1What is a virtual PBX?
- A virtual PBX is a cloud-hosted phone system that replaces the traditional physical switchboard. No hardware or on-site installation required: it works over the internet and is managed through a web panel. Includes extensions, IVR, call queues, recording and much more.
- 2Do I need to sign a long-term contract?
- No. VoIPer requires no minimum contract term. You can sign up, use the service and cancel at any time with no penalties. We bill month to month.
- 3Can I keep my existing phone numbers?
- Yes. We handle number porting at no extra cost. The process usually takes 5 to 10 business days depending on your current provider. Your existing service is not interrupted during porting.
- 4How many extensions can I have?
- There is no limit. You can start with as many as you need and add or remove extensions at any time from the admin panel, without contacting support.
- 5Does it work on mobile and remotely?
- Yes. VoIPer provides a web softphone and a mobile app for iOS and Android. Agents can work from any location with an internet connection, using their extension just as if they were in the office.
- 6What happens if the internet goes down?
- You have several failover options: automatic call forwarding to a mobile or external number, voicemail with transcription, and the ability to configure backup numbers. VoIPer runs on redundant infrastructure with a 99.9% uptime SLA.
- 7How does billing work?
- You pay a monthly fee for the extensions and services you subscribe to. Calls can be unlimited (depending on the plan) or usage-based. We issue an electronic invoice monthly in arrears and accept direct debit and credit card.
- 8How quickly can the service be activated?
- Activation is completed within 24 hours. If you need to port your number, the timeframe is 2 to 7 working days depending on urgency.
- 9What technical support do you offer?
- We provide technical support during business hours by phone, email and chat. Advanced plans include priority support. We also have an online knowledge base with tutorials and configuration guides.
- 10Do I need to buy IP phones?
- Not necessary. You can use the VoIPer softphone on any computer, tablet or smartphone at no extra cost. If you prefer desk phones, we are compatible with the leading manufacturers (Yealink, Grandstream, Snom, etc.) and can supply them.
- 11Is the virtual PBX secure?
- Yes. All communications are encrypted with TLS and SRTP. The platform is hosted in ISO 27001-certified data centres, with two-factor authentication for the admin panel and active protection against telephone fraud.
